Welcome to the very first post on Growing With Tiny Humans!
I’m Ms. Jenny, a preschool educator, creative maker, and early childhood advocate — and I’m so glad you’re here.
If you’re a preschool teacher, toddler parent, early childhood professional, or someone who simply loves the world of tiny humans, this space was created for you. My goal is to share meaningful early learning activities, teaching reflections, and creative inspiration to support your classroom, your workflow, and your heart.
🌱 The Beauty of Ordinary Moments in Early Childhood
One of the most magical things about early childhood education is how everyday moments turn into powerful learning experiences.
A toddler stacking cups isn’t just playing —
they’re practicing problem-solving, early math concepts, and hand-eye coordination.

A child painting broad strokes isn’t being messy —
they’re building grip strength, fine-motor skills, and creative confidence.

A preschooler figuring out how to clean a spill isn’t “off task” — they’re learning independence, responsibility, and real-life skills that matter.
As preschool educators, we know learning doesn’t always come from perfect Pinterest-worthy setups. Most of the time, the deepest growth happens during ordinary, imperfect, beautifully spontaneous moments.
✨ Try This Simple Activity: The Everyday Noticing Game
This low-prep activity is one of my favorites for toddlers and preschoolers — perfect for circle time, transitions, indoor play, or outdoor exploration.
How It Works
- Choose a theme of the day — colors, shapes, textures, movement, or sounds.
- Tell your tiny humans: “Let’s go on a noticing adventure!”
- Encourage them to point out or collect items that match the theme.
- Wrap up with a short reflection:
- What did you find?
- What was new or surprising?
- What did you enjoy noticing today?
Why It’s Perfect for Early Learning
- Strengthens vocabulary
- Builds mindfulness and observation skills
- Encourages curiosity and exploration
- Works for multi-age groups
- Needs zero prep (teacher win!)
It’s developmentally appropriate, flexible, and ideal for busy early childhood classrooms.
💛 A Reminder for Every Preschool Teacher
Some days are smooth. Some days are… the opposite of smooth. (If you’ve ever cleaned up a sensory bin explosion at 9 AM, you know.)
But every moment — even the chaotic ones — helps tiny humans grow.
So here’s your gentle reminder:
You are making an impact, even on the messy days. Tiny humans learn because of teachers like you.
